Why Choose Metabolics Krill Oil?
Metabolics Krill Oil is derived from Krill from the deep-sea waters of the Antarctic. Krill are small, shrimp like crustaceans at the bottom of the food chain, that feed predominantly on algae (which provides the Astaxanthin content of Krill oil) Krill oil is a very pure source of Omega 3, free of potentially harmful levels of mercury, heavy metals, PCBs and dioxins containing No transfat. Krill oil also naturally contains small amounts of omega 6 and 9 providing an excellent balanced oil supplement.
It also contains naturally occurring astaxanthin that provides antioxidant protection to the oil itself, preventing rancidity.
Krill Oil is the most bioavailable source of Omega 3, offering a unique composition of EPA and DHA mostly carried on phospholipids (with fish oil it is carried on fatty acids)and esterified astaxanthin . Krill Omega 3 phospholipids contain mostly phosphatidylcholine with EPA/DHA attached There are a total of 69 choline containing phospholipids in Krill compared to 7 in Omega 3 fatty acids
Krill oil appears to be better absorbed than fish oils so supplementation should be 2/3 that of Omega 3 fish oil to account for its increased bioavailability.
Krill oil also naturally contains small amounts of omega 6 and 9 providing an excellent balanced oil supplement.

Krill oil markedly outperformed conventional fish oil DHA/EPA triglycerides in human double-blind trials for premenstrual syndrome/dysmenorrhea and for normalizing blood lipid profiles showing a change in bloating, weight gain, breast tenderness, swelling, irritability and joint pain.
Krill omega-3 phospholipids also demonstrated anti-inflammatory activity, lowering C-reactive protein (CRP) levels in a double-blind trial.
